Two people were sent to the hospital after the classic car they were driving to the Iola Car Show was rear-ended in New London.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. on STH 54 just west of CTH S in New London, according to New London Police.

A 66-year-old Hortonville man was driving a 1930 Chevrolet with a 68-year-old Appleton man, turning onto STH 54 on the way to the Iola Car Show, when he was rear-ended by a 38-year-old Green Bay man driving a 2002 Dodge Stratus, police said.

That caused the 1930 Chevrolet to go into the ditch and roll over, ejecting the two men. There were no seatbelts in the car because the car was exempt from seatbelt requirements, police said.

They were taken to the hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries. The driver of the Dodge Stratus was not injured.

No citations have been issued yet because the incident is still under investigation.
