Wildlife volunteers began training Saturday afternoon at the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary for the rehabilitation program.
The program is an organization of volunteer members who take care of injured or orphaned wildlife for release back into their habitats.
Trainers talked Saturday about how to clean and feed the creatures as well as different illnesses and ways to help animals learn how to be successful in the wild, on their own.
Organizers say the release rate of animals in the rehabilitation program is at 75 percent.
