Manitowoc Police and Fire were dispatched at 12:36 p.m. today to a trailer in the Trails End Trailer Park, located at 2000 Johnston Drive.
Trailer No. 210 residents reported they could smell smoke but could not see any fire. Within minutes fire erupted within the trailer, apparently from within a bedroom area, according to a Manitowoc Police Department press release.
Residents of the trailer were able to evacuate but suffered from some smoke inhalation. Two residents were transported to Aurora Hospital by Manitowoc Rescue Squad to be checked over. Two family pets, a dog and a cat, were as of yet unaccounted for.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and this incident is still under investigation. The trailer is likely a total loss.
