It was a superhero's welcome for a little boy who's proven to be quite a fighter.
"It's kind of pretty surreal actually," Calyx's father, Josh Harnowski, said.
Meeting three-year-old Calyx and his family Monday was group of heroes for the child dressed as Spiderman.
"He wanted to meet the first responders," Ashwaubenon Public Safety Captain Jody Crocker said. "He wanted to meet the people that saved his life."
"That's pretty cool," Officer Wade Wudtke said. "Not gonna lie, that's awesome."
Earlier this month, Calyx nearly drowned to death at his family's pool. For a time, he was lifeless. He wouldn't have survived if not for these officers.
"We thank everybody for it, but it's never going to be enough really," Harnowski said.
Touring the public safety building, Calyx is back to his normal self. He's a fighter, and for officers to see that is special.
"It definitely puts a lump in my throat," Wudtke said. "You can't help but put your own children in that situation, and see them, and that's what I think drives most of us."
