Three Wisconsin cities ranked in top-100 best places to live, per Livability

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Wisconsin is a great place to live, but these three cities happen to be some of the best in the country.

According to a Livability.com study, Eau Claire, Appleton and Madison all rank in the top-100 best places to live.

Eau Claire, Wis. comes in at number 81 on the list.

The study says that this town experiences all four seasons, has plenty of hiking and biking trails, high-rated schools and education, and is an affordable place to live.

“Eau Claire is great city to live in. There's always something exciting going on from live music, to shows and performances, to hiking, biking, kayaking, and much more. The overwhelming sense of community and good-natured people make it feel like home to both locals and visitors while the emphasis on arts and culture keep it fun and interesting,” Volume One Magazine's Program Manager Lindsey Quinnies said.

Higher on the list is Appleton at 56 .

Appleton is just north of Lake Winnebago, has a low cost of living and is "one of the safest cities in Wisconsin." according to the website .

This town experiences all four seasons, including some heavy winters, but there are many summer days with concerts and festivals.

Coming in as the third best city to live in the United States is Madison, Wis .

Already known as one of the best college towns out there, Madison excels in everything from cheap to fine dining, state parks, outdoor activities, and athletics.
