There were no serious injuries to the people on board a boat that capsized around 9:00pm Monday night in the Neehah Dam.

According to authorities Tuesday, the three men involved in the boating accident are ok and the boat was still under water.

The Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue shift commander, Ryan Krings, said the three we're going after a dinghy that became loose.  He said the incident started Monday afternoon when fire crews were dispatched for a small boat from the sail club that drifted away.  Krings said fire crews did not feel it was a danger to leave it there until they could close the dam and go back to get it.

He said later in the evening the three men on a pontoon boat thought they could pull it back.  However, their boat became stuck and tipped.

Krings said the Army Corp of Engineers will likely have to turn off the dam in order to remove the boat.

"They're going to have to probably close the dam, the gates and bring some type of a crane in that's going to be able to lift the boat out," he said.  "It's flipped and under water.  Part of the boat is sticking out so they'll have to bring something that can actually lift it out of the water."

Krings said one man grabbed a cable that crosses the dam and pull himself to safety.  He said the other two were pulled into the dam, but were able to make it to the opposite side.  There fire crews met them on dry land and they did not have to give first aid.

Krings added boaters should stay away from the dams, because there are strong currents unlike the lake.
