Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputies say three people are dead after a crash Thursday afternoon.
According to deputies, this happened on I-43 South of County Road C in the Town of Newtown.
They say a 40-year-old man from Whitelaw was driving his truck when it went through the median and hit a northbound van with two people inside. A small fire started in the engine of the truck, but deputies say it was not a contributing factor.
All three people were trapped and had to be extricated by Jaws of Life.
The driver of the truck and passenger of the van were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van was taken to the hospital, but later died.
The names of the victims are not being released.
The crash remains under investigation.
