FOX CROSSING, Wis—Three people are being held at the Winnebago County Jail after officers checked on a suspicious car report.
Just before 6 p.m. on Sunday an employee of a business called to report that a car had been in the parking lot for a long period of time.
According to an officer, the three people in the car said they were checking on another car that had broken down. As the officer was checking their identities, he found that two of them had given a false name.
A Menasha Police K9 was requested for assistance. A loaded semi automatic handgun was found hidden under the passenger seat. Marijuana was also found in the vehicle.
A records check on the weapon revealed it was reported stolen in Milwaukee.
Detectives are presently working on the case trying to determine what their connection is to the area.
The following were taken into custody:
-A 33 year old Milwaukee man was held on charges of: Carrying a Concealed Weapon; Possession of a Firearm by a Felon; Possession of Stolen Property; and Obstructing an Officer.
-A 29 year old Milwaukee woman was held on charges of: Carrying a Concealed Weapon; Possession of Stolen Property; and Bail Jumping.
-A 21 year old Milwaukee woman was held on charges of: Carrying a Concealed Weapon; Possession of Stolen Property; Bail Jumping; and Obstructing an Officer.
