FOX CROSSING, Wis— Three people were taken into custody after stealing a car.

It happened around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday morning near Midway Road, and Appleton Road.

An officer spotted a car that matched the description of a stolen vehicle in Menasha.

The officer stopped the car and found three people inside.

The car had the wrong license plate on it, and vehicle identification numbers confirmed the car was the one that had been reported stolen.

The driver, a 19-year-old Fox Crossing woman, was taken into custody for operating a vehicle without owner’s consent as well as bail jumping.

A 20-year-old Berlin woman in the passenger’s seat was turned over to Menasha authorities for further investigation of the stolen car.

A 27-year-old Fox Crossing man initially gave officers a false name. Officers found morphine pills in his possession, that he did not have a prescription for. Once his identity was verified, he was found to be on probation. He was given a citation for obstructing and also taken into custody for possession of a schedule II narcotic.
