This month, Catholics around the world celebrate the blessed Mother Mary.

Today, hundreds of people in Wisconsin marked the occasion in a special way.

They joined an event called the Walk to Mary.

The annual walk is a 21-mile journey from the Shrine of St. Joseph at St. Nobert College to the National Shrine of our Lady of Good Help in Champion.

Leaders say this event grows every year.

"People of all faiths, people of no faith, you can come and as long as you enjoy the spirit and enjoy talking to people, you're more than welcome," Bishop David Ricken said.

In addition to about 2,000 walkers, Saturday's event also drew about 200 volunteers to help people along.
