The LPGA is coming to the Green Bay area.

The Oneida Nation announced they have agreed to sponsor the 2017 LPGA tournament.

The Oneida LPGA Classic will be at Thornberry Creek at Oneida. The dates of the event will be announced at a later time.

The event will have a full field of 144 players who will compete for a $2 million purse.

The Oneida Nation has a three year deal to sponsor the LPGA tour starting in 2017.

LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan said “It’s exciting to have the Oneida Nation and Thronberry Creek at Oneida on board with over a year and a half to prepare for what I think has the potential to be one of the top stops on Tour.” He went on to say “Green Bay is already a great sports town and we hope the community, and all of the cheeseheads, will be out in full force to cheer on the best female golfers on the planet.”
