There are thousands of insurance agents and agencies out there who want you to know that Monday, May 2nd is National Life Insurance Day.
Laura Adams at InsuranceQuotes.com is very blunt on who needs it and who doesn't.
"If, let's say you're single, you don't have any dependents, no one is really counting on your money or assets, you probably don't need it," she explains.
Nor do older Americans, she says, but everybody in between does, especially parents of young children.
"If the parent, even one of the parents, are not there to provide an income or to provide a child care, that really throws the whole family's financial situation off kilter," Adams warns.
She says 20-year term policies are her favorites because they're the least expensive and should have a face value of at least ten times your gross annual income.
