The children from the Green Bay Boys and Girls Club were showing off their green thumbs Tuesday. Along with the UW Extension in Green Bay, the group hosted their own Teen Farmers' Market. The kids grew all of the produce and plan on selling it the next couple Tuesdays in August. The activity teaches them important life and business skills.
"It is the whole day, so this morning we started, we walked around to our different gardens, we picked our produce. We then brought it inside, cleaned it all up, and got it ready for market, and so that took us a couple of hours," said Coordinator Bethany Thier.
This year, the kids also learned how to make strawberry jam and pickled beans.
