An Appleton East High School teacher is on leave as the school district continues to investigate a January 23 incident, according to a post on the Appleton Area School District's website.
A morning incident occurred between a teacher and two students in the school's weight room on that date, according to Appleton Police.
An investigation showed the teacher "physically grabbed and pushed a student who had been involved in a verbal dispute with him, during a workout," according to a police statement.
No injuries were reported.
Police recommended a charge of disorderly conduct for the 48-year-old male teacher, police said.
The case has been sent to the Outagamie County District Attorney's office for review, police said.
The district is conducting its own investigation into the incident, the website post said.
