Just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, officers from the Appleton Police Department responded to a home in Appleton for a disturbance complaint.
It happened in the 1200 block of East Sylvan Avenue.
Police say a 36-year-old Jared Young was making threats to resist arrest and also to harm officers when they arrived. Members of his family and also tenants of homes nearby were evacuated.
The SWAT and Negotiation teams were on the scene all night, intermittently communicating with Young. He was taken into custody at 7:00 a.m. No one was injured.
Young now faces charges of domestic battery, disorderly conduct, failure to comply with an officer's attempts to take a person into custody, making threats to an officer, and bail jumping.
He is currently in the Calumet County Jail.
