Clintonville Police have provided information for schools to share with parents regarding suspicious activity reported by students in recent days.

According to a letter from Officer Dennis Schroeder to the schools, at about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, two St. Martin students were walking to the Clintonville Public Library. On the way, a vehicle stopped and was asking them for directions to Highway M. The students were not familiar with this highway and told the two individuals who then asked them if they lived in the area.

The two students told them they did not live in the area and then continued walking. The students felt uncomfortable with the conversation and the individuals. When they returned to the school they notified their teacher about the contact.

Another student then said he saw a vehicle matching the description the two gave along with matching individuals on South Clinton Avenue near Rexford Longfellow School around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. If a vehicle matching this description is seen around the school, police request people try to obtain a license plate number and then contact the Clintonville Police Department. At this time police wish to make contact and be assured there are no problems.

Vehicle description: Smaller gray or silver colored car with a lot of rust on the bottom.

Driver: Male with glasses and a long gray or white colored beard.

Passenger: Only description given was a white adult male.
