Students and staff at the Appleton Area School District wore orange Wednesday for "Unity Day," to show kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
"We know some of our students experience difficult times and we want to just promote to all of our students and our families that it's important that we show dignity and respect to all persons everyday," said Sheree Garvey, a school climate services coordinator for the District.
October is bullying prevention month.
Students signed a pledge saying they will take action to prevent bullying.
