Philadelphia -- A new viral video shows a high school student violently fighting with his English teacher. The two punched and kicked each other, with the teacher even putting the student in a headlock.
The fight between a Lincoln High School student and teacher stemmed from an argument in the classroom, according to police.
We're told the unidentified 16-year-old threw the first punch.
The video appears to show both participating in the fight.
A crowd of about two dozen people looked to have watched.
The video was posted on social media late Monday afternoon.
Philadelphia Police charged the 16-year-old with aggravated assault.
The teacher, whose name we're withholding, was not charged.
Outside Lincoln High, there were sharp opinions on what was seen in the video.
"I mean you don't fight your teacher. When I came from the old school, we listened at the teacher and we did what we had to do. We did what was told to do," said Mary McCoullum, a grandparent.
The teacher apparently tried to call security from his classroom but was not able to get help.
The teacher had to get stitches.
The Teacher's Union says they don't have a statement on the matter.
