Damage survey on the SW side of Manitowoc completed. Downburst winds of 70-75 mph caused mainly minor damage to several industrial buildings on either side of I-43 near Hwy 151 around 4:45 PM. Additional tree damage being investigated north of this area this afternoon. #wiwx

Some folks in Manitowoc County are waking up to damage after strong winds and thunderstorms swept through the area.
The storm hit around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service said there were reports of damage to a couple of buildings at the Manitowoc County Fairgrounds.
There were also reports of trees down near the intersection of Wildwood Drive and North Rapids Road.
Meteorologists said a funnel cloud was sighted at the time of the wind damage.
