MADISON, Wis. (WISC) — The University of Wisconsin-Madison is suspending its study abroad program in South Korea as concerns over the coronavirus continue to grow.

The move comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention raised its travel advisory for South Korea to a level 3, the highest level.

The decision impacts five students enrolled at either Yonsei University and Korea University in Seoul, according to Meredith McGlone, a spokeswoman for UW-Madison. The students will return to the United States.

UW-Madison had previously suspended its study abroad programs in China.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee also shut down its exchange program in South Korea.

There has been one confirmed case of coronavirus in Wisconsin, 15 people have tested negative and one test result is pending.
