Second case of COVID-19 confirmed in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Pierce County Public Health Department announced Monday that a second person has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Wisconsin Department of Health Services, person was exposed while traveling within the U.S. and is currently isolated at home.

County officials are working to determine who many have had contact with the person.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness.

DHS said officials will hold a media briefing Tuesday to answer further questions.
