MILWAUKEE — U.S. Attorney General William Barr is traveling to Milwaukee on Tuesday to provide an update on Operation Legend.
Operation Legend launched in the summer and sent dozens of federal investigators to several cities in the Midwest, including Milwaukee. Investigators are focused on reducing violent crime.
Operation Legend was named in memory of a 4-year-old boy, named LeGend Taliferrom, who was shot to death in Kansas City earlier this year.
As of Sept. 4, 15 people in Milwaukee have been arrested and charged as a result of the initiative.
The Department of Justice says since the operation began, a total of 2,000 arrests have been made. That includes 147 for homicide.
Barr will be joined at Tuesday's 1:30 p.m. conference by U.S. Attorney Matthew Krueger, Special Agent in Charge Robert Bell, and U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman.
