Manuel Franco, 24, of West Allis is the winner of the $768 million Powerball jackpot.
The winning ticket for the March 27 drawing was sold at the Speedway at the corner of Beloit Road and Moorland Road in New Berlin.
A single ticket matched all six Powerball numbers to win an estimated $768.4 million — the third-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
If the winner chooses the lump sum option, they’ll get a cash payment of $477 million.
The Speedway where the ticket was sold will get $100,000. This big jackpot also indirectly helps all Wisconsin homeowners by providing a little extra property tax relief.
According to The Wisconsin Lottery, the odds of winning the big prize are about one in 292 million. Wisconsin ranks sixth out of all the states in the U.S. for most wins in Powerball history.
The win comes almost two years after Wisconsin hit its last Powerball jackpot, when a Milwaukee resident won $156.2 million on March 22, 2017.
The winning numbers were 16, 20, 37, 44 and 62. The Powerball number was 12.
