State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers met with area school district superintendents and educators in Neenah Friday.
He says his primary goal is to get ideas on innovative ways to make sure our children have the best teachers possible in the classroom, and he says that begins with brainstorming with leaders across the state.
"To talk about school licensure. How we can retain our teachers, our great teachers. How we can recruit young people into the profession," Evers explained.
Evers says increasing pay and bringing professionals from outside the field into teaching may be two keys to finding more quality educators.
