Spent fireworks left in a recycling can caused a garage fire in Green Bay early Wednesday.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to 1101 N Webster just after 1:00 a.m. for a report of a garage on fire.
After quickly putting out the fire, crews determined the resident had put spent fireworks in a recycling can in the garage earlier in the evening.
The fire caused about $10,000 in damage.
No one was hurt or displaced from the fire.
The GBMFD reminds everyone to leave spent fireworks overnight before disposal, or place them in a bucket of water outside before throwing them in the trash.
