Sturgeon spearers are struggling with water clarity, with only 44 fish taken on Monday. This brings the total to 393 so far this season.
The Department of Natural Resources says they are still sixteen adult females away from triggering the end of the season on the upriver lakes.
Meanwhile, they've closed the Waverly Beach registration station through Friday due to the slow season. They expect it to last the full sixteen days on Lake Winnebago.
