DPW reports the South 141 Main Street Bridge was repaired at 4:30 p.m. and is operational again.

---------------

The City of Green Bay-Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced that the South 141 Main Street Bridge is temporarily closed due to a mechanical failure.

DPW reports that the bridge is currently stuck in the up / open position as a result of a ship coming into port.

A repair crew is currently on-site.

DPW is unsure of how long the bridge will be closed.

Motorists should anticipate backups and delays on Main Street in the downtown area and use alternate routes, such as the Mason and Walnut Street Bridges, to cross the Fox River.
