The individual responsible for a significant amount of blood found on and around a vehicle on Appleton's north side has been identified.
On April 5, 2018, the Appleton Police Department began to investigate a suspicious incident in the 500 block of East Bradford Avenue. A vehicle, belonging to an individual from Green Bay, was found in the roadway with a large amount of blood on the driver’s door and on the ground around the vehicle. It was initially believed to be associated with an unreported disturbance.
Investigators have located a 19 year-old female responsible for the situation. The individual, who avoided police because of a probation violation, told investigators she had attempted to slash tires on the parked vehicle. She injured herself when the knife she was using broke. The broken knife severely cut the fingers on one of her hands. She received medical treatment at a local facility.
Investigators discovered this incident occurred after several vehicles had been seen in the area and a verbal disturbance had occurred. None of the activity was reported to the Appleton Police Department until the next day. The owner of the vehicle did not want charges against the 29 year-old woman. However, the female was confined by her agent for a probation violation.
The Appleton Police Department strongly urges community members to call when activity is occurring. If the incident is suspicious or criminal, time plays an important role in officers locating people associated with the incident.
