Nearly a foot of snow covers the ground in parts of Door County and that has several snowmobile trails opening along the lakeshore.
The Southeast, Southwest and Central sections of the Door County Snowmobile Trail System have opened for the season.
The conditions of the trail are currently listed as fair and partially groomed. Caution is advised if heading out onto the trail.
People are recommended to stay off of waterways, standing water, swampy areas, lakes and rivers. There is danger of possible ice under that snow. Also the groomers is out on the trails, so people are asked to keep an eye out for them.
