The Shawano County Sheriff's Office has not held back when it comes to online predators.
"We want them to know that we're here and we're going to arrest you if you come to Shawano County," said Sheriff Adam Bieber.
The Sheriff's Office arrested six men over the weekend on charges of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime after setting up a sting where they posed as an underage girl in a Craigslist advertisement. All six men were allegedly trying to meet up with and have sex with the girl when arrested.
The men who have already been charged are Eli Campbell, 25, of Pulaski, Carl Simpson, 46, of Oshkosh, Alexander Remington, 20, of Green Bay, Logan Rasmussen, 27, of Cecil, and Alexander Hu, 22, of Hobart.
One more man was arrested but has not been charged at this time.
"It's a high priority for our department to investigate these crimes against children," Sheriff Bieber said. "We want this to be preventative and we want people to know that we will catch you."
The Shawano County Sheriff's Office began these operations two years ago and has arrested 35 individuals since.
