Update: Teen suicide in Buchanan Town Hall

The person who died by suicide in the Buchanan Town Hall has been identified as a 16-year-old boy who attended Kimberly HIgh School.

Investigators are not sure why he went to the town hall with a gun.

"There is nothing tying it to that location at this time," said Lt. Terry Hammen of the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department.

On Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at about 1 p.m. a male juvenile entered the Buchanan Town Hall Fire Department, N178 County Road N, Appleton, according to the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office.

Shortly after entering the building, the juvenile produced a handgun and discharged the weapon.

The juvenile suffered a self-inflicted fatal injury.

Investigators say a man walked into the town hall and talked to a clerk briefly before pulling a gun and shooting himself. 

The Outagamie County Sheriff's Department is on the scene investigating the incident.

Police are not identifying the man at this time.
