Sheboygan police officer involved in shooting

UPDATE: The suspect involved has been identified as 37-year-old Kevin Higgins of Glenbeulah, Wisconsin.
 
The officers involved have been identified as Brandon Kehoe and Anthony Hamilton. 
 
Officer Kehoe is a 10 year veteran of the Sheboygan Police Department.  
 
Officer Hamilton is a seven year veteran, also from the Sheboygan Police Department. 
 
This incident is still actively being investigated by the Officer Involved Critical Incident Regional Response Team.

Sheboygan police were involved in a shooting overnight. 
 
It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, when police were responding to a robbery call at Union Avenue Tap, 1401 Union Ave.
 
The suspect, who was armed with a rifle, exited the tavern. Two police officers fired at him. He died at the scene.
 
A 53-year-old employee of the tavern was shot in the arm, with a possible graze wound to the chest. He is undergoing surgery. Investigators are looking into where the gunfire came from – the suspect or police.
 
The officers, a 32-year-old man with 10 years experience, and a 33-year-old man with 7 years experience, are on administrative leave.
 
The suspect has not been identified.
