Sheboygan Police say they've been getting a lot of calls and reports about "creepy clowns" roaming around the area.
In a Facebook post, the department says that though the act of walking around in a clown costume is not illegal, trespassing on property, knocking on residents' windows and doors, chasing citizens down the roadway and sending threatening messages on social media is.
The department adds that those behaviors can lead to a citation or arrest.
Police are encouraging people to report any suspicious behavior.
A clown was recently spotted in the Green Bay area.
In that case, a local filmmaker stepped forward, claiming responsibility for 'Gags the Clown' on Facebook.
