SHEBOYGAN, Wis. - A Sheboygan man accidentally shot himself in the ankle while cleaning his gun Monday, police said.
Officers were called to 925 High Avenue around 11:22 a.m. on October 9 for a report of a shooting.
A 29-year-old man was trying to clean his 9mm handgun and pointed it towards the ground to clear the action, officers said. He accidentally discharged it, shooting himself in the ankle.
The man was brought to the Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There will be no criminal charges, police said.
