SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis—A Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a rollover crash early Friday morning.
It happened on I-43 near County Highway PP just before 2:00 a.m..
Kohler Police say that the deputy was traveling northbound on I-43 when she noticed headlights in her rearview mirror approaching very quickly.
The driver of the car behind her said he was distracted with a dog in his vehicle, and that his cruise control was set at 75 MPH. He looked up at the road right before he rear-ended the deputy's vehicle.
When the deputy's car was hit, it was forced across the lane into a metal guardrail and rolled over on its roof.
The deputy was trapped upside down for several minutes but was able to free herself with the aid of the driver who hit her.
She was not hurt.
