A Shawano teen traveled to Washington, D.C. to represent Wisconsin in a mock government program this past weekend.
Gage Pillsbury was chosen to attend Boys Nation, a program funded by the American Legion. It has been sending high school aged boys to Washington, D.C. to promote patriotism since the 1940's.
Pillsbury says he's honored to represent the Badger State.
"It's sort of taught me the responsibilities of an actual senator," Pillsbury explained. "Passing bills, discussing topics that are quite controversial."
Pillsbury says he hopes to enroll in college after enlisting in the military.
