A federal grand jury returned a three-count indictment Tuesday charging William C. Wilber IV, 35, of Suring, with child sex offenses on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
If convicted, Wilber faces a maximum sentence of up to 15 years’ imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, at least five years of supervised release, and a $5,000 special assessment, on each of the three counts.
According to the indictment, the defendant engaged in sex acts with two teenage girls near a family property on Legend Lake on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Count One charges the defendant with engaging in a sex act with a 14-year old girl in spring 2015. Counts Two and Three relate to the defendant engaging in sex acts with a 15-year old girl in summer 2015 and fall 2016.
The case was investigated by the Menominee Tribal Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew J. Maier.
