A Seymour man will serve five years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

Travis Kamps, 25, was sentenced Monday in federal court in Green Bay, and will have to register as a sex offender.

Kamps used is cell phone and social media platforms to exchange texts, instant messages, and sexually explicit pictures with underage girls across the country, according to court documents.

He pled guilty and was convicted of asking for and getting five sexually explicit videos from a 16-year-old in Illinois.

Chief Judge William Griesbach said he needed to send a strong message of deterrence to Kamps and others to discourage similar behavior in the future.
