WASHINGTON- Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin says she is hopeful after the U.S. Treasury Department rejects a proposal to cut the Central States Pension Fund.
The announcement comes after a bitter fight between Teamster's Union leaders and the federal government over cuts to the Fund, which could become insolvent by 2025.
Sen. Baldwin says the fund's future is dependent on Congressional action, and has co-sponsored the Keep Our Pension Promises Act to keep those reliant on their pension funds safe from cuts.
