Two waves of threatening robot-calls targeting schools in Northeast Wisconsin forced many schools to evacuate. Now some are wondering are schools and police are over-reacting to these threats?
"It ties up resources for us and it's hours potentially that kids aren't in school," explained Lt. Mike Frisch with the Appleton Police Department.
The automated calls come through to individual school offices warning of a threat inside the building.
"All of them from the other districts have all been just a little bit different too," said Neenah School District communications manager, Jim Strick.
"We're not just dealing with the same person or the same message at every single school," said Strick.
Now the FBI is on the case, but police say whether this is the end of the threats or not, they will continue to react.
"If we take each case on it's individual merits and on what we know we'll take the appropriate action or what the action will be appropriate at that time," said Lt. Mike Frisch.
Police say whoever is behind these threatening nation-wide robot-calls once they're caught will be facing terrorism charges among others.
