EPHRAIM, Wis— You’ll now be able to buy alcohol in the Village of Ephraim.

"It's a day I thought would never come.  I never thought I'd live long enough," laughs Old Post Office Restaurant owner, Larry Krause.

Krause has owned the restaurant in Ephraim since the 1970's, but Friday was the first time he was able to sell alcohol.

Restaurant owner say being able to serve alcohol is really going to boost their business.

"Overall in the standard average you're looking at 30 percent of your overall sales coming from alcohol in today's world," said Chef's Hat restaurant owner, Todd Bennett.

This is the first time since the village's founding 163 years ago, businesses will be able to sell beer and wine.

Voters approved the sale in restaurants back in April.
