Rise Together Teams Up with another...

Posted
A big announcement was made on Friday in the fight against heroin.

The group Rise Together, founded by two, local recovering addicts, is joining forces with Young People in Recovery, which has chapters across the nation.

In 2014, there were 47,000 overdose deaths in the U.S. This partnership aims to get the group into more schools to educate kids about the epidemic and how to say no.

"We're up against a non-traditional issue and so we need things that are not traditional to come up against it. We need to provide more opportunities for hope and for recovery," said one of the speakers at the press conference in Appleton.

Rise Together has already educated over 100,000 students in 150 schools, but now they'll be able to reach more through this new partnership.
