ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) -- The village of Ashwaubenon says sports fans can fly their team banners and flags -- but wooden signs aren't allowed.
Tyler Jozwiak says he and his neighbors were contacted by the village's code enforcement officer recently who asked them to take down their displays of support for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers, including banners.
Village president Mike Aubinger followed up Thursday and said the flags and banners are OK, but not the signs that had rope lights in the shape of a W, G and number 4. Aubinger says a permit is needed for that kind of sign long term.
Aubinger said as long as flags and banners are in good shape, they can stay up.

ASHWAUBENON (AP) -- Some residents who live in the shadow of Lambeau Field are asking if there's an offseason for being a sports fan.
The village of Ashwaubenon is asking the residents to take down their Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers banners that fly from a duplex and an apartment building.
Tyler Jozwiak says he and his neighbors were contacted by the village's code enforcement officer to take them down. No citations were issued. Jozwiak says everyone in Green Bay knows there's no offseason to being a Packers fan.
Village officials planned to meet Thursday to discuss the matter.
