The Packers are reportedly adding a new running back to the mix.

NBC Sports is reporting that the Packers have traded for Kansas City Chiefs running back Knile Davis.

Davis was drafted by the Chiefs in round three of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at Arkansas.

The move comes as Eddie Lacy battles an ankle injury. Running back James Starks is out with a knee injury.

The last time GM Ted Thompson traded for a running back was in 2008, for Ryan Grant.

The Packers would be giving up a conditional late round pick for Davis.
