Officials with the American Red Cross say Florence has wreaked havoc in many different ways.
The storm has caused more than 200 blood drives to be canceled, and officials here locally say that could have a drastic affect on their blood supply.
They're asking people here and all around the country to consider donating blood.
"Consider helping out in a variety of different ways, either through a financial donation, through volunteering, and of course through donating blood," the Red Cross's Steve Hansen said. "Very easy to do, takes about an hour."
Officials say they need all types of blood, but they are specifically looking for type 'O' and platates.
