A new report says Wisconsin posted its best year for sales of existing homes in a decade in 2015.
The Wisconsin Realtors Association said Monday that closings on residential properties increased 11.4 percent and the median sale price rose 5.1 percent. The group says a solid December put the finishing touch on a strong year with an 8.9 increase in sales of existing homes compared with December 2014.
The group's chairman, K.C. Maurer, says it's been a "phenomenal year" with 7,800 more homes sold in 2015 than 2014. He says it's the best market Wisconsin Realtors have seen in more than 10 years.
Maurer says the strength of the market was seen statewide, with sales up by double-digit margins in every region.
