Pulaski High School coaches, athletes help clean up community after storm

Posted

Pulaski was one of the areas hit hardest by Wednesday's severe weather. But after storms tore up trees and damaged homes, Pulaski High School athletes and coaches came together to help clean up the debris.

Football and cross country athletes took time out of their summer workouts to help community members tackle the storm damage, the school district said.

Football players cleaned up around Pulaski High School and went into neighborhoods to help anyone who needed assistance.

The cross country team helped clean up trails by the Pulaski Polka Grounds and at Pulaski Community Middle School.

"They showed up with no questions asked," said Pulaski High School athletic director Janel Batten. "They came with work gloves and were ready to go at 6:30 in the morning."
