A proposal to raise the fee for use of the Brown County Jail by municipalities was heard by the county's executive committee tonight.
If passed, the fee would be raised from forty dollars a day to two hundred dollars a day.
Supervisor Bernie Erickson is the one who proposed the idea which is intended to reduce overcrowding at the jail.
The committee voted unanimously to refer the plan to the Public Safety Commission for a hearing.
