KIEL, Wis.- Power is back on in Kiel after the city was dark for several hours Saturday morning.
Utility crews restored the power just before 11:00 Saturday morning to nearly the entire city and surrounding towns.
Kiel Police said the problem was a result of a relay, also known as a switch that opens and closes circuits that went out at a substation.
Kiel City Hall was opened as a warming shelter for people without heat. Kiel Police say several people showed up to use the facility during the outage.
Police say the power was out for up to four hours while crews worked to fix the problem.
