A solemn ceremony was held Friday outside the Brown County Courthouse as veterans unite marking national POW/MIA Recognition Day.
More than 40 years since the Vietnam War ended, the fate of some who fought remains a mystery.
A candle was lit in their honor for each of the 26 missing from Wisconsin.
"No one ever left behind, unfortunately some of these guys did,” said Ken Juza Vietnam Veterans of America. “They were either POW’s, missing in action, and we're going to be here to remember them until all of them are found,” he said.
It’s estimated over 1,800 service members remain missing from Vietnam.
